Effect of CO₂ reduction measures in 2023
Information on current energy consumption
To achieve this, we calculate our CO2 footprint annually. Insight into CO₂ emissions makes it possible to set effective targets. In 2023, our footprint was 53.9 tons of CO₂ compared to 72.4 tons of CO₂ in 2022. Below is the graph with the CO₂ footprint for the entire year 2023.

CO₂ Reduction Target
To reduce these emissions, we have set the following CO₂ reduction target:
Scope 1 and 2 targets
Eurostrut Eurostrut aims to reduce CO₂ emissions by 20% in 2026 compared to 2021.
The above target is related to the achieved turnover in order to monitor progress in CO₂ reduction. Further specified for scope 1 and 2, the objectives are as follows:
- Scope 1: 20% reduction in 2026 compared to 2021
- Scope 2: 80% reduction in 2026 compared to compared to 2021
CO₂ reduction measures
To achieve this objective, we have drawn up measures. Below are some important ones that apply to our employees:
- Adjusting mobility regulations.
- Additional charging stations at the office
- The new way of driving
- Checking tire pressure
- Research into energy saving
- Research into FSC paper
- Research into emission-free delivery
Progress / trend
Since 2023, a number of targets have been adjusted. The progress of the CO₂ reduction targets is shown in the graph below.
Last year, fewer tons of CO₂ were emitted compared to 2022. Relative CO₂ emissions have also fallen!
In 2023, the use of diesel will have decreased further. This also applies to petrol as a fossil fuel. This is based on the mobility scheme, which includes the criteria for a lease car. This only prescribes the use of electric cars. Partly because of this, the electricity consumption within the fleet has increased significantly.
In December 2022, we merged the adjacent building with our building at Van Heekstraat 18 in Schiedam. This has increased the total surface area by 50%. The absolute impact of this on gas consumption is therefore visible and shows an increase of 616.11 tonnes of CO₂.
When we look at the consumption per m2 meter or per FTE, we see a significant decrease. This is also visible for the electricity consumption. During the renovation of both buildings, they were equipped with LED lighting and motion sensors that activate the lighting when a room is entered. Air conditioners have also been installed in the various rooms, which can be used for heating as well as cooling.
This clearly demonstrates that with the right guidance from management and the right attitude from employees, it is all feasible!

Individual contribution
We also ask our employees to make an individual contribution to reducing CO2 emissions.
Some ways to contribute:
- Check the tire pressure every month.
- Drive consciously.
- Switch off the engine when you are not using the equipment.
Together
We ask our employees to think along with us to further reduce our CO₂ emissions reduce. In this way, we work together to achieve our CO₂ reduction target.
However, if you have a good idea for energy or CO2 reduction, we would like to hear from you via info@eurostrut.com.
