DORDRECHT - Tuesday, January 16, 2024
Eurostrut will supply more than 36 kilometers of cable support systems, including ladder trays, cable protection tubes and wire trays, to Actemium for a large project in the Rotterdam Europoort. A new chemical plant is currently being built there. Today, Michel Hamers (BU Manager Projects Actemium) and Olav de Swaaf (Managing Director Eurostrut) signed the contract at the Actemium office in Dordrecht, in the presence of Marco Snoek and Kayhan Boztepe on behalf of Actemium, and Benny Ghiraw on behalf of Eurostrut, who are directly involved in the project.
Logistics challenge
“This is a milestone for Eurostrut,” emphasizes De Swaaf, managing director at Eurostrut. “Not only because of the size of the order, but also because of the trust that a large party like Actemium expresses in our organization. The entire team, as well as our production facilities, are closely involved in this logistical challenge. Through well-planned partial deliveries, we initiate a continuous supply of goods to the construction site. In addition, we offer storage on our site for part of the goods, which we can deliver on demand with our own transport service and logistics partners.”
“Eurostrut distinguishes itself through transparency”
Marco Snoek, project manager at Actemium; “The choice of Eurostrut for this – for us too – large project is based on a number of factors. We value their well-considered advice on material selection, proactive involvement and thorough questioning. Eurostrut distinguishes itself through transparency in delivery times and production times, which was crucial for our planning. The possibilities for storage and transport on demand give us the flexibility we needed. In short, Eurostrut is not just a supplier, but a strategic partner that contributes to the success of our project.”
Actemium Connects!
The contract is part of the 'Actemium Connects!' initiative. “The aim of this initiative is to strengthen the chain by working together and breaking down the traditional boundaries between client, contractor and supplier,” emphasises Michel Hamers. “This development is necessary given the considerable challenge we all face: the Netherlands must transform into a dynamic, green and sustainable society within a few years. We can only achieve this by involving all parties as full partners in projects at an early stage. In this way, we can jointly realise more effective projects by making optimal use of everyone's knowledge and skills.”
The construction of the factory is already in an advanced stage and Actemium will start installing the cable car route in February.
