Eurostrut supplies cable management system for innovative textile factory Spinning Jenny
Powerspex has carried out the installation work for Spinning Jenny – the first Dutch factory to spin large quantities of yarn from recycled textiles – in Nijverdal. More than 200 metres of Eurostrut cable support system were used.
Innovative factory with great potential
Spinning Jenny is a much-discussed factory in the Dutch ‘recycling world’. It is seen as a company with great potential in a market that could become very large. New yarn is made from old textiles, which prevents a great deal of loss of energy and labour. And it makes the mountain of textile waste – which is very high – a little smaller.
Cable route from transformer to machine
The construction of the factory took place in the period 2022-2023. Spinning Jenny built its state-of-the-art machine park from the ground up, which was fully completed in August 2023. A major part of the construction was the installation of the cabling and field cabling. Powerspex used Eurostrut cable ladders with various accessories - such as bends, fall and rise pieces - to lead the new power cables from the newly installed transformers on the outside of the Spinning Jenny building to the inside for the power supply of various machines. Where necessary, the cable ladders are supported by Eurostrut strut profiles.
1300 metres of cable on 200 metres of ladder track
In this project, Powerspex has processed approximately 1300 metres of cable, varying from 5G95mm² to 5G185mm². These were laid on over 200 metres of Eurostrut cable ladders and accessories, in varying widths from 200 to 600 mm wide, equipped with lid and lid clamps.
